Francesco Paolo Lamacchia was born in Italy, in the province of Bari, on August 12, 1976. He studied Construction Engineering in the Polytechnic of Bari, graduating with honor. In 2008 he obtained a Ph.D. in Structural, Seismic and Geotechnical Engineering in the Polytechnic of Milan. He has a decade experience in the University didactics, in high specialization courses both in universities and public/private centers. He published a lot of scientific works on international magazines and conferences. In 2011 he founded the First National Network about the Zero Consumption Buildings in Italy, becoming in 2014 Chairman of the Organization and at the same time Technical National Coordinator of the study and multidisciplinary analysis group. The Network Zero Consumption in Italy has achieved a great success to this day, thanks to the several situations created by the Network, just like the first international school, currently at its third edition, on the design of Zero Consumption Buildings in the hot or temperate climates typical of the Mediterranean Basin and in the subtropical countries.

In 2015 Francesco Lamacchia founded, along with his partners, the Institute BIM Italy, becoming vice-Chairman Delegate. The scientific competencies of Francesco Lamacchia focus on the world of the construction, and mainly on Zero Energy or also energetically self-sufficient or highly innovative sustainable Buildings, integrated with the standards of interoperability towards a low carbon level economy.

In the last few years Francesco Lamacchia has participated as coordinator and supervisor in several thematic and technical meetings like workshops, seminaries and conferences in the context of sustainability, like sessions of work with presentations of significance about “Zero Consumption Buildings: solutions for the energy distributed and integrated towards a zero energy city”. Many of these seminaries were supported and sponsored by the European Commission.
